Durch Zufall erwecken in dem 300-Seelen-Kaff Gold Lick vier Teenager den chinesischen Dämon Guan-di zum Leben und bezahlen dies mit Ausnahme von Jeff direkt mit dem Tod. Als auch weitere Dorfbewohner Guan-di zum Opfer fallen, kommt dem Campbell-Fan Jeff die rettende Idee: Seine Ikone soll den Dämon besiegen. Und so entführt er kurzerhand Bruce Campbell, der gerade in den Dreharbeiten der üblen Trashgranate „Cave Alien 2“ steckt. Angekommen in Gold Lick, nimmt Bruce die Aufgabe unter der Annahme, es handle sich um einen Geburtstags-Gag seines Agenten, an, gibt vor den Bewohnern den toughen Helden und baggert nebenbei Jeffs Mutter an - bis er dann Guan-di gegenübersteht...
